Assiniboine Park

On Saturday, May 25th, become a citizen scientist and explore the biodiversity of Assiniboine Park!

Our goal is to inventory all living things around the park to understand our local biodiversity and strive to conserve it. Participate at your leisure or join us and our expert leaders on specialized walks for a deeper dive into the natural world right in our backyard. Participants will use iNaturalist to gather the records for the Bioblitz.

The expert walks are as follows:

  • 10:30 am: Paulson Des Brisay – Birding Walk
  • 11:00 am: Dr. Katherine Dearborn – Common Plant and Insects
  • 11:30 am: Kirstyn Eckhardt- Butterfly Walk
  • 12:00 am: Katherine Morgan- Dip Netting for Aquatic Invertebrates
  • 12:30 am: Sara Patterson- Tree and Shrub Walk

Meet at the BioBlitz tent near the Cargo Bar!
