Garden Party

The 2017 Celebration in the Park Garden Party was held on August 30 in the picturesque Leo Mol Sculpture Garden.

Over 450 guests in attendance enjoyed signature cocktails and decadent hors d’oeuvres prepared and served by the Assiniboine Park Conservancy culinary team. They danced the night away to the Big City All Star Band under twinkling lights on what was a perfect summer evening.

Bob and Kim Silver, presenting patrons, welcomed guests to the sold out event, which raised $139,000 in support of Canada’s Diversity Gardens. Imagine a Place Campaign Vice-chair, Don Streuber, emceed the formal portion of the evening’s events.

Local entrepreneur Amanda Park of Park and Buzz gifted guests with a beautiful pair of radiant stud earrings, an in-kind donation valued at over $17,000. Coal and Canary was also on site selling their hand-poured candles created especially for the event and attendees had the opportunity to bid on a variety of exciting, one-of-a-kind, and exclusive Assiniboine Park and Zoo experiences all to help support Canada’s Diversity Gardens.

This year’s wildly successful event was led by Co-chairs Kim Silver and Michelle Brownell, along with the support of volunteer committee members Ruth Asper, Theresa Parrish, Deborah Waller, Lee Meagher, Jane Quinton and Alana Langelotz.
