Unlock the secrets of the Zoo in this after-hours, adults-only evening of good-natured competition while learning how we care for our creatures!
There will be winners. There will be losers. Bragging rights are on the line.
Your crackerjack crew of problem-solving sleuths will explore the Zoo while following a trail of covert clues as you crack codes and solve puzzles in a dramatic race against the clock. This game of FINDERS KEEPERS will test your knowledge on how zoos keep the amazing animals in our care happy, healthy, and well-fed.
Who? If you are 18+ and like escape rooms, puzzles, trivia nights, board games, and a little friendly competition … this event is for you!
What? Compete against other teams or among yourselves. Eat, drink, play – yes, there will be food! and drinks! – including the adult kind.
Where? Assiniboine Park Zoo – 2595 Roblin Blvd.
When? Thursday, June 13, 2024 or Friday, June 14, 2024
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm (final entry @ 7:00 pm)
It takes about two hours to play the game, but it really depends on how good you are.
How? Find some friends. Assemble a team. Pick a date. Buy your tickets. Give your team a cool name. Plan your costumes (optional, but totally recommended, the photos will be way better).
Tickets: $45 + GST per person
Purchase your tickets in advance online or in person at the Zoo (2595 Roblin Blvd) during regular hours of operation (open daily 9:00 am - 5:00 pm). Walk-ups will only be accommodated if we are not sold out.
Tickets are on sale to the public on Monday, May 6!
Know Before You Go
- Tickets include the 2-hour Locked Zoo game, written, and virtual game materials.
- A cell phone is required. You will need one per team, fully charged, and a data package. You will be completing tasks through your phone. Phone charging stations and wifi are not available.
- Teams of up to 4 people are recommended, but we’re not the fun police. Larger groups are welcome and can share or receive an extra game sheet.
- This event is fully-licensed. There will be food and drink available for purchase at the Tundra Grill and other locations. You can pre-order your food upon arrival using our online ordering system.
- This is an adults-only experience (18+). Valid ID may be requested upon entry. Guests arriving for this experience with children/infants will not be admitted. No refunds will be provided.
- When you purchase tickets online, you will receive a confirmation email with your tickets attached. If you do not receive this email, please check your junk/spam or promotions folder. If you still don't see it, please e-mail info@assiniboinepark.ca or call (204) 927-6098 at your earliest opportunity so we can troubleshoot this for you in advance of the event. When contacting us, please include your purchase details (purchaser name, date of purchase, quantity of tickets).
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I purchase tickets at the gate?
We expect this event to sell out in advance. Tickets will only be available at the gate on the evening of the event if we are not sold out.
I didn't get the confirmation email for my tickets! What do I do?
First, check your junk/spam or promotions folder. If you still don't see it, please e-mail info@assiniboinepark.ca or call (204) 927-6098 with your purchase details (purchaser name, date of purchase, quantity of tickets) and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Can I smoke or vape at Locked Zoo?
No, the Zoo is a smoke free facility. This policy also applies to vaping. Smoking of any kind is not permitted in the Zoo. You may leave the Zoo to smoke or vape via the main entrance, and a staff member or volunteer will give you a stamp to allow re-entry.
What is the weather cancellation policy for Locked Zoo?
Locked Zoo will proceed rain or shine. The Zoo will only be closed in the case of extreme weather. A closure notice will be posted on our website, Facebook, and Instagram by 2:00 pm on the day of the event. Ticket holders who have purchased online will be contacted by e-mail.
Can I bring in outside food and drink?
No, outside food and beverages are not permitted. Re-usable water bottles are permitted.
Can I see the Zoo animals during Locked Zoo?
Locked Zoo takes place along a designated path within the Zoo. While you will see some animals, the entire Zoo will not be open. If you are interested in seeing all the animals at the Zoo, come back during daytime Zoo hours of operation! The Zoo is open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Is Locked Zoo sensory-friendly?
The nature of the Locked Zoo experience is such that people with sensory regulation or processing needs can enjoy the event, though they will encounter public address announcements and areas with amplified music and “bar-like” food and beverage service. Guests may access Kulture City sensory bags and quiet rooms already available at the Zoo if required.
Ticket Terms & Conditions
- Locked Zoo will proceed rain or shine. The Zoo will only be closed in the case of extreme weather. Notices regarding Zoo closures will be posted daily by 2:00 pm on our website.
- Tickets are valid for one-time use on the specified ticket date. Guests must enter the Zoo between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The event ends at 9:00 pm.
- Tickets cannot be sold and will not be replaced if expired, destroyed, lost or stolen.
- Tickets cannot be transferred to another date.
- Refunds will only be offered in the event of a Zoo closure.
- No re-entry. If you leave the Zoo, you will be unable to return.
- Disorderly conduct will result in your removal from the site. This includes trespassing into restricted areas, and unsafe or disrespectful actions towards animals, visitors, staff, volunteers, or Zoo property.
- Entry is only via the main Zoo Entrance located at 2595 Roblin Blvd.
